Course Summary

Can you design the cars and vehicles of tomorrow? Whether you want to improve performance, lower carbon emissions, develop the perfect electric car or make vehicles safer, our four-year MEng Automotive Engineering course will get you there. Study in Chelmsford, and work towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status when you graduate.

Entry Requirement


128 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) including Mathematics.
4 GCSEs including English Language and Science grade C, or grade 4 or above, and Maths grade B or grade 6.
IELTS score of 6 or above.
In order to progress from level 5 of the BEng course onto level 5 of the MEng course students will normally be required to have successfully completed level 5 of the BEng course at the first attempt and obtained an overall mark of 60% or above. Each student meeting the criteria and expressing an interest in transferring will be interviewed with a view to exploring their motivation and suitability for the course.
